I felt that same way last week... I just made the decision to shut off from the planning, the organizing, the writing and just enjoy the city for 1 week. It was lovely. We slept in, wandered around the city, spent long hours doing nothing important at all.

Of course today, I'm scrambling to get my writing assignments in, writing apologetic emails and generally scurring around. But you know what, it's totally worth it. You have to unplug once in a while.

When I lived in Germany I used to travel one or two weekends every month. I would leave work as soon as possible on Friday (or Thursday if I had Friday off) often leaving work an hour or two early. I would spend the weekend in my city of choice seeing everything I could possibly see in two or three days and return as late as possible on Sunday night so I could get up and be at work by 7:30 on Monday morning. I loved traveling and going to new places, but it got to the point where the whole idea of it exhausted me so much that I would almost dread having to pack my bags again for another trip. So every once in a while I started going back to places where I'd already been so I could enjoy them in a more liesurely way or visiting places where I knew the only attraction was the beach. I even started coming back a little earlier on Sundays so I could relax a little before the work week started again. It helped me to stay energized and excited about my trips.
