I stayed in cambodia for 3 weeks and I loved it all. It was such an amazing country, one which I long to go back to. It's the country that surprised me the most out of everywhere I have been too and one i never expected to miss so much.

Im glad you found that cambodia.

Wow, Siem Reap sure has changed. When I was there almost ten years ago, there was only one Western style hotel. At Angkor Wat, however, I do remember being mobbed by kids selling postcards and knock off copies of a very good guide book that I had paid dearly for in Taiwan. Particularly, I remember their disappointment when I paid them in riel instead of USD. :-)

People usually are surprised when we say Battambang was our favorite place in Cambodia. Everyone expects us to say Angkor Wat/Siem Reap. Like you, we loved getting out into the countryside on the back of a motorbike and getting a feel for regular life for people. It really is a shame most people don't have the time to stay longer and see the rest of the country and its people.

I was missing your posts on the people of Southeast Asia so was glad to see this one. I know this is the part of traveling you and Jeff really enjoy. I knew you all would find what makes travel for you all so interesting.

I could not agree more. We spent almost a month in Cambodia, and it was the people that kept us there. Such a horrible past, but the Cambodians are so positive about the future. We could all learn something from them-you don't have to have a lot to be rich.

*raises hand.... I admit it, I did a three/four day tour in Cambodia, just Angkor Wat & Phnom Pen. This post is *almost* making me want to go back. But there's a lot more I want to see in Asia before I go home.

Glad you're traveling low to the ground and really enjoying yourselves.

That sounds more like your interactions in Africa, and I know you guys loved it there. But boys running around butt naked and girls in only skirts? What kind of country is this? I hope Jeff shielded your eyes.
